By pedal or horse power, or wearing your walking boots, the landscape is never anything but glorious and the trails, with spectacular coastal and country views, are a popular way to see North Cornwall. If you imagine yourself striding out on windswept Bodmin Moor, galloping on horseback across golden sand beaches, or pedalling the 18-mile Camel Trail, from Padstow to Wemford Bridge, or the North Cornwall section of The Cornish Way, you can do it. There are many easy strolls too! And those who ‘collect’ churches might follow the church trail – as did the poet John Betjeman. Bicycles can be hired in Wadebridge. Leaflets and packs are available from tourist information centres, including town and village trails, coastal walks with breathtaking vistas, and The Saints’ Way – the Padstow to Fowey stretch of the route taken by Christian pilgrims on their way to Brittany from Ireland.
